The Council of Anglican Provinces of Africa (CAPA) is a continental body that brings together all the Anglican National and Regional Churches (Provinces) in Africa. There are 12 Provinces in Africa and the Diocese of Egypt, all serving about 40 million people. CAPA was started in 1979 by Anglican Primates who saw a critical need to have a co-ordinating body to articulate and address issues affecting Anglicans in the continent.
