KHARTOUM TRAINING IN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

CAPA will hold its inagural meeting in the Diocese of Khartoum from 30th November to 4th December 2015. The training is aimed at equipping priests and development workers with economic empowering skills for effective ministry.


COMMISSIONERS ORIENTATION NOV 19-20, 2015

Members of the four CAPA Commissions will meet in Nairobi Kenya on 19 and 20 November 2015 to be inducted into their roles. This will also give a chance for the Commissioners to meet the Standing Committee and all the Primates who have the responsibility for various Commissions. The four Commissions are:


 

1.      Economic Empowerment

2.      Church life and Interfaith Relations

3.      Environmental stewardship and Food security

4.      Peace and Nation Building

 Each of these four Commissions is composed of 12 members  from all the regions in Africa and with expertise and tested experience in their designated commissions. We anticipate that each commission will come up with tentative plans to guide their activities.



CAPA STANDING COMMITTEE 18 NOV 2015

The  meeting of the Standing Committee will be held in Nairobi Kenya from on the 18th November 2015. This is the second meeting this year with the earlier one held in Cape Town in March 2015.

Following the natural calamity which has hit the Seychelles in the past days, I am sad to inform you that the country and the diocese have suffered heavy losses from the floods. Church buildings and other important structures have been destroyed. However we give thanks to the Lord as there has been no loss of life.

            I as Archbishop of the Province, therefore, call on your solidarity to sustain the diocese of Seychelles as it strives to recover the loss suffered in the last few days.

            Your prayerful support and gesture of generosity will be greatly appreciated.
