• Work closely with the Anglican Provinces in Africa to make real their vision that future generations will be born and live in a would free from AIDS
• Strengthen capacity in the provinces to enable them to fulfill their commission in the following ministries: 1) HIV/AIDS prevention, 2) Pastoral care, 3”) Counseling for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, 4) HIV/AIDS care and support, 5) Death and dying, and 6) Leadership to address HIV/AIDS through church clergy and laity.
• Monitor progress of the strategic plan for HIV using the indicators set by CAPA AIDS board
• Collect and disseminate information on implementation of the Anglican AIDS initiative within the Anglican communion across Africa
• Advise and counsel the provinces on the nature of the epidemic as it unfolds in Africa
• Encourage the provinces to engage in advocacy and education
• Promote the use of appropriate managerial and financial accounting practices to serve provinces in their ongoing relations with local and international partners
• Identify and facilitate access to resources for HIV/AIDS work in the provinces
• In consultation with the Secretary General, solicit financial resources for the substantiality of the CAPA AIDS unit
• Identify technical help for hire whenever and wherever needed.
• Travel to Anglican Provinces in Africa to support the AIDS initiative as needed, in consultation with the secretary General for CAPA
• To serve CAPA AIDS unit
• To perform other such dealings as assigned by the board fro time to time.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree of its equivalent from a reputable university
• Five or more years proven work experience in organizational development, planning, accounting, implementing, managing, monitoring and evaluating programes in corporate, nonprofit or church organizations
• Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and related issues , including gender
• Knowledge of Anglican church structures of systems
• A committed Christian
• Excellent organizational, writing and managerial skills
• Ability to work well with others in a team and to work independently when necessary
• Good computer skills, especially in financial management and planning
• Experience In proposal development
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, knowledge of French will be an advantageous.
