Introduction

The Council of Anglican Provinces of Africa (CAPA) was established in 1979 in Chilema, Malawi, by Anglican Primates in Africa who saw a need to form a coordinating body that would help in bringing the Anglican Communion in Africa together and articulating issues affecting the Church.
