WEEK 1: A Prayer for the Body of Christ and the Leadership of the Nation
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our saviour.”
We commit the Primate of Burundi, The Most Revd Martin Blaise Nyaboho, the President of Burundi, H.E Pierre Nkurunziza and all leaders in the country of Burundi as well as the entire body of Christ that God may renew their strength and grant them grace to provide true leadership at all times especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
WEEK 2: A Prayer for Mercy and Healing
“I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the nations: for I am the Lord that heals you”
This week we remember and pray for the Dioceses of Buhiga, Bujumbura and Buye. We prayer for the Bishops and the faithful in these Dioceses and the communities they serve that they will know the abundance of God’s mercy and the His healing power and grace.
WEEK 3: A Prayer for Peace
“And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away as captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.”
As we pray for peace and tranquility in Burundi, we remember and pray also for the Dioceses of Gitega, Makamba and Matana. We pray that the Lord will flourish their ministries and use both the ordained and the lay members of these dioceses as agents of His peace in the communities and the country at large.
WEEK 4: A prayer for Love
“And now abides faith, hope and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love”
This week we pray for the Dioceses of Muyinga, Rumonge and Rutana; for their mission and ministries, their leaders and members. We pray that the spirit of love and hope will permeate the country of Burundi especially as they gear up for national elections later in the year.
Pray for the spirit of Love to reign in the nation, more so as they go through these trying times of the COVID 19 pandemic and as they approach the season of national elections. May her citizens be bound together by chords of love.
