In 2018, 15 Bishops with their spouses attended a five day training in Kigali, Rwanda. They came from the Anglican Provinces of Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda. Rwanda was chosen as the avenue, to enable participants experience a Church and Nation that is struggling with ministries of forgiveness, reconciliation, of areas , including maintain a health spiritual life styles in the midst of competing demands, Organizing outreach and discipleship programs, mobilizing communities to use existing resources to address pressing issues in their midst, engaging with structures of governance and the media.
As part of their training, Bishops visited the genocide memorial and wrestled with the implications of the Church’s calling in a multi-ethnic context. Field visits were also made to communities where the Anglican Church is responding to the needs of children in poor communities through the Early Child Learning Centre’s.
